How We Rank

Eco Pet Score rankings consider the most important social and environmental issues facing the pet food industry today. We estimate greenhouse gas emissions of ingredients, packaging, and distribution. Products with a green banner rank among the top ("best") third. A yellow banner means the middle third. A red banner means the bottom third. 

The star ratings are pulled directly from online retailers (Chewy, Amazon, etc.). With average ratings and our ranking system, you have the power to make the best choice when you shop for pet food. Choices that reflect your commitment to doing better by the planet, people and animals.
